The ideal footwear

Fit refers to the set of characteristics of a shoe that allow it to fit the foot properly and comfortably. Shoe size is, of course, one of the main factors to consider when choosing the right pair of shoes, but it's not the only one. Fit is also defined by the shoe's width, its volume—known as its last—and its construction.

The ideal footwear

For the fit to be ideal, the foot must not slide forward when walking, the heel must be supported so that it does not come out of the shoe, and finally, the volume at the front must be sufficient throughout the rolling movement. Their design is similar to that of adult shoes, with additional technical features. Shoes for children who have acquired the stages of walking must require rigorous fit qualities.

Different morphologies

Every foot is different. For the same length, the foot can be more or less wide, and the volume of the instep—its upper part—can be more or less significant. These factors will determine the ideal fit for foot support and health. We then speak of narrow, standard, or wide fit. Understanding the specific characteristics of a child's foot is essential to providing a suitable fit.
